Witzer operates an escrow and payment service designed for any contract where payment is made on completion or delivery of a product or service, particularly where payment is made via milestone payments or instalments.
This Privacy Collection Notice explains how Witzer collects your personal information in connection with your use of the Witzer platform (Platform). For more information about how we handle personal information, please refer to our Privacy Policy, accessible at . This Privacy Collection Notice does not form part of any contract, and does not confer any contractual rights on you or place any contractual obligation on us.
Witzer collects your personal information when you use our Platform via our website or mobile app, including:
- your name, address, date of birth, contact phone number, email and bank account information;
- content you provide to us in connection with your use of the Platform, including:
- messages you send and receive through the Platform between you and us, or between you and another user, including the contents and metadata of the messages, subject to applicable law;
- any other information you provide to us when you sign up to use our Platform, set up a project, manage project payments, make an inquiry, provide feedback or correspond with us (including photos, videos, messages and other content); and
other information about your use of the Platform (such as technical information generated in connection with your use of the Platform).
We may also collect sensitive information about you that you provide to us when using the Platform, however, we will ask you for your consent before we do so. For example, if you tell us when you sign-up for an account that you are a member of Master Builders or the Housing Industry Association (HIA), we will ask you to confirm you consent to us collecting this information , and if so, we will collect this information and display it on your user profile (which other users of the Platform can see).
We generally collect personal information directly from you, but we may also collect personal information about you from a person acting on your behalf (such as your authorised users under your account).
If you give us information about other users or prospective customers, you must have authority to do so and tell them about our Privacy Policy, accessible at .
We collect, hold, use and disclose personal information about our Platform account holders to:
- provide our services to you through the Witzer Platform;
- respond to your enquiries about our services;
- provide you with customer service or technical support and deal with any complaints or feedback you have; and
- communicate with you, including by email, text message, phone or using targeted advertising through social media and other online channels, about our products and services, special offers, promotions and events you may be interested in, including provided by us or third parties.
We also collect, hold, use and disclose personal information for the other purposes described in our Privacy Policy, accessible at .
We may disclose personal information we hold about you to third parties for the purposes outlined above, and as otherwise described in our Privacy Policy. These third parties are described in our Privacy Policy.
If we are unable to collect personal information from or about you, we may not be able to respond to your requests or enquiries and facilitate any requests you make to use our services.
Witzer does not generally disclose your personal information to overseas recipients. However, some of our service providers use personnel and facilities located outside Australia. As a result, personal information collected and held by us may be accessed by our service providers located overseas, including in the United States of America.
Our Privacy Policy, accessible at , includes information about how you can opt out of direct marketing communications from us, and how you may request access to or correction of your personal information. Our Privacy Policy also includes information about how you may make a complaint about how your personal information has been handled by us.
